❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the author behind Beneath Shifting Skies?

Richard Bell is a storyteller at heart, blending heartfelt poetry with vivid imagery. His writing captures small-town life, deep reflections, and timeless emotions drawn from real-life experiences.

What inspired you to start writing poetry?

Much of my inspiration comes from everyday moments, nature, nostalgia, and my faith. After years of reflection, I began writing to capture emotions and stories that might otherwise fade.

What kind of poetry will I find on this website?

The poetry spans many themes — love, loss, humor, faith, small-town life, mystery, and music legends — all written in a relatable, narrative style. Some poems are deep and thoughtful; others might make you chuckle.

Is your poetry available in book form?

Yes! My poetry book, Beneath Shifting Skies (Where Thoughts Take Flight), is available in both Kindle eBook and paperback on Amazon.

Can I listen to the poems instead of reading them?

Absolutely. Many poems feature audio recordings where the author reads in his own voice — some even include background ambiance to enhance the experience.

What’s included in the Members Area?

For a one-time fee, members get full access to the complete poetry collection, early sneak peeks at new work, and exclusive bonus content not available anywhere else.

What’s “Tin Pan Coffee”?

It's a poem — and a possible coffee brand in the works! It ties into the cozy, rustic vibe of the website. Think warm sips and morning reflections.

Can I contact the author?

Yes! Head over to the Contact page to send a message, ask a question, or just say howdy. Richard reads every message personally.

A reader called your poem "Low Battery, High Voltage" risqué. How do you respond?

I write what I feel. "Low Battery, High Voltage" wasn’t written to be risqué—it was written to reflect a real moment, a charged encounter between two people that happens in life. It’s subtle, not crude. My body of work speaks for itself—it's heartfelt, nostalgic, faith-rooted, and grounded in everyday experience. I won't rewrite truth to fit a critic’s lens.

How would you summarize your poetic voice?

Simple. Relatable. Plain talk. My poems don’t hide behind metaphors or flowery wordplay—they sit on porches, ride backroads, and echo through quiet rooms. I write in a voice that belongs to the people I know, and the stories they carry.
